Burn Camp Celebrates 10 Years
Posted On: Sep 05, 2008

The PPFFA Burn Camp celebrated its tenth year of operation the week of August 17th thru the 23rd.  The "Camp" which is held every year at Camp Victory located in Millville, PA has ben the summer home of childhood burn survivors for a decade.  Financial Secretary Dave Schmidt and a devoted cadre of camp counselors have interacted with children of all ages making summer fun come true.  President Martynuska who visited  and toured the camp was moved by the the moment.  "This camp is truely the jewel in what we're all about.", stated Martynuska.  The burn camp which is funded through the efforts of the Pennsylvania Professional Fire Fighters Association is open to all children.   The camp has five simple goals:

  • To provide a unique, exciting, fun-filled and growing experience.
  • To convey to each camper the feeling that he/she is a unique and worthwhile human being.
  • To emphasize the fact that everyone has something positive to offer.  Each camper is a winner if he/she does their best with the abilities they have.
  • To promote numerous challenging co-educational experiences to promote a positive feeling between boys and girls.
  • TO HAVE FUN
  • If you know of a child who would qualify for camp please contact Secretary Schmidt
