Attention Brothers and Sisters -

Ohio needs our assistance. As many of you know our brothers and sisters in Ohio have been under attack. Senate Bill 5 (SB 5) that was passed by the Ohio General Assembly last year took away almost all forms of Collective Bargaining and crushed decades of progress that many of the public employees have worked so hard for. This attack on workers in Ohio has led these Unions to stand up and fight. A massive effort all over the state to repeal this law has been underway and now our brothers and sisters have reached out to us for our help. The IAFF and multiple other Unions are making one last push. IAFF General President Harold Schaitberger, along with many other national union presidents, is coming to Youngstown to lead a massive canvassing of Ohio voters to repeal this unfair law. The time has come to stand up and help out own!

A rally is being held in Youngstown, OH on Saturday, November 5th at 11:30 AM at 150 South Four Mile Run Rd., Youngstown, OH 44515.

Also Local #1 has chartered buses to take their members to the fight. If you would like to join them. Please email me so proper arrangements can be made. Bus Trip leaves from the Teamster’s Temple – 4701 Butler Street (in Lawrenceville) Saturday November 5, 2011 Meet at 9:30am buses will depart at 9:45am Buses will be leaving from Youngstown to return to Pittsburgh at approximately 3:00pm.
