Who We Are
Our staff is made up of hard working men and women who know workers rights. Our E-Board has more than 100 years of combined experience standing up to employers.
What We Do
We have been fighting for working class families for many years. We stand up for our members in the legislative, political, and social landscapes./div>
“On behalf of the Pennsylvania Professional Firefighters Association (PPFFA) and our 7,000 members, we applaud the passage of House Bill 1632. This legislation, sponsored by Representative Jennifer O’Mara, establishes a standard for First Responders to be entitled to worker’s compensation benefits due to Post-Traumatic Stress Injuries (PTSI).
PPFFA understands firsthand the mental and emotional toll of this line of duty. An estimated 30% of first responders develop behavioral health conditions, including depression and PTSI. Sadly, more first responders die from suicide than in the line of duty.
PPFFA looks forward to working with the Pennsylvania Senate and Governor Josh Shapiro on the final passage of this crucial legislation.”
– Robert Brooks, PPFFA President
