It is with great sadness that Pittsburgh Fire Fighters IAFF Local No.1 announce the passing of Firefighter Richard "Rick" Burns of Engine Company #12 while on duty last night. Brother Rick has served the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire since 1999 and was only 43 years old.

Visitation for Firefighter Richard “Rick” Burns will be Monday 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Edward P Kanai Funeral Home - 500 Greenfield Ave. Pittsburgh, PA 15207 also on Tuesday 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm.

Local 1's Union Service will be on Tuesday 7:00pm at the funeral home.  At the request of Local 1 there is to be no official vehicles brought to the service or the funeral.

The funeral service will be on Wednesday 10:00am at ChurchSt Rosalia's Church - 411 Greenfield Ave Pittsburgh, PA 15207. Firefighters will meet at the church at 9:00am.
