2010 PPFFA Legislative Conference
Brothers and Sisters:
The upcoming PPFFA Legislative Conference may be a pivotal point on several legislative issues. The PPFFA cancer presumption legislation is closer than ever to becoming a reality. Our members will need to be engaged with their legislators, especially in the state senate to move HB1231 forward for passage. The PPFFA Officers and Legislative/Political teams have been involved almost every legislative session day in one way or another lobbying to bring the legislation to fruition. Additionally, HB 1287, 1288 and 1289 passed the House with overwhelming support and they too rest in the Senate awaiting passage. These bills give our brothers and sisters in boroughs and townships the ability to exercise their rights as United States citizens and be politically active. Act 47 reform language is also coming out before the House and we hope to have a final version introduced for our members to bring to their legislators in time for the PPFFA legislative conference. Please do not forget to make your appointments with your Representatives and Senators for Tuesday, April 20th. You'll be joining over 100 of your Brothers and Sisters in Harrisburg to show the political strength of the PPFFA. See you in strength in Harrisburg.
